Jig-a-thon! UPDATE

Drove up from RI last night and arrived at the big lake around 9pm after hitting a ton of traffic, a 4 hour ride in total. The nice thing was no rain at all or it could have been much worse. Finished setting my cusk traps at 11pm and hit bed at 12pm. Woke up early this morning and hit the lake targetting whites. Well, whites is what I got! All 25 on the jig stick in a fairly short period of time. They are still very finickey but I found the pattern that produced them all. Not sure how hard it is to get a limit on the big lake but man it felt great! Now a ton of fish to fillet and some great eats for the family. So glad my wife wanted to get away for the weekend. Mission accomplished, now time for some lakers.

Awesome job!! From what I have seen on the shanty not to many limit out on whites.

5 cusk on a 12 hour soak but let 4 of them go.  Very small on big bait. Trying to work some lakers now. Dropped 1.

Great job and well worth bringing the wife up.. at least she knows you catch fish and not just drink beers all day ;D

Great trip! Congrats. Glad you found them.

I hit my "go to" spot for whites Fri & Sat and they were not there. A group I knew picked away at them a bit close by, but nothing like a strong bite.

I'll give it a go this weekend and next before the shut down.

Can't beat a load of jumbos on the jigging rod!!
