Title: Ice ice thickness
Post by: hjcrawfish on Mar 05, 2019, 11:28 AM
Thinking about when the ice will be out. Wonder if folks could post ice thickness around the Lakes Region. Do not need to name the lake, unless you want to. Just want to get a feel for how consistent it is or not.

Hugh, I guess you know how thick your lake ice is now.  ;)
You can make your trip south, if you're going? Highly doubtful for an April Fool's ice out this year!
Oh, welcome to the shanty!
Take care,

Moultonborough Bay (on Winni) had around 28" this past weekend.

Without any warm spells, ice out will definitely be after Easter this year!

Completely valid, Frank!
Has a lot to do with lost ID credentials, I believe.

I never look at that stuff.. I just answer questions... sometimes to posts that are antiques not realizing they from a decade ago...

Actually only noticed, because I clicked on the name when I saw Richard call him by name.

Thanks to all who posted, regarding ice thickness. The reports were anywhere between 20 to 30". Certainly is going to be a later iceout than in recent years. No point in rushing to get the boat ready. Iceout has always been my time of year.  :)
