Title: Browns, Pike, smelt
Post by: Nosaj on Feb 19, 2024, 09:37 PM
I managed to get Hawkeye out on the ice for an overnight which isn't easy when I am competing with girlfriends, trucks and work.
We did manage some nice fish and some good food.  Dinner was venison burgers and breakfast was venison boudin with eggs.  The pike was 12 lbs and the brown was 5 lbs.

Well done Jason an Hawkeye !!     Its a hard competition when the kids get older and their interests change, I know I went thru that phase when I was younger.  Making $$$ and fixing up a 72 Chevelle SS was more appealing then

Way to go j. I always love hearing if your adventures with Hawkeye. As in my previous posts, I can relate to the whole teenager thing. Our boys are pretty close in age. It's hard these days to compete with those things. But we can be grateful when we can make it happen, even if just a few times a season.

Good stuff. Keep it going as long as you can and then they’re out of the house.

I am glad we were able to pull the trip off, It really was quality time together.  I am also very happy to see him out doing his thing, it is all part of the life journey.  We have had many great adventures on and around the ice and I look forward to many more.
