How bad was the rain?
« on: Jan 13, 2023, 05:26 PM »
Planning on heading up to NH tomorrow(live just over the border in MA)and wondering how much rain and how much damage it did to the ice, surprisingly where I live it barely rained at all but was almost 60° mid afternoon.
Any intel would be appreciated but bot looking for anyone's spot, and if anyone wants some company for some jigging hit me up.
Tight lines and pray for cold soon ;D

I worked in Durham all day, 53° off and on rain and the dreaded ice murderer, FOG.
You count your years by the Winters.

It’s not being Cocky if you can back it up.

Doesn't sound good, but what the heck is either drive up and get away for some good mountain air or stay at home and get stuck doing chores ;D

Freezing rain right now (6AM Sat) - roads are slick

I'm going to give it a day to set-up again, then hit the road + do some scouting for safe ice.

Good luck!

Getting a lazy start, making pancakes then headed out to see how the local ponds survived. Needing 4x4 to get through the mud in my driveway yesterday evening is not a promising sign...

Well, something I didn't expect to happen actually happened and I ended up on the big lake, tons of slush and water on top, but for those that know the ice is a go.
And was actually rewarded with a little laker and 1 white perch, if the weather doesn't change, will be back next weekend with the big shanty and hopefully get the first cusk of the year.
