Is  hook seperation more about getting the bait seperated from the lure or the hook from the lure ? I got a couple eurotackle mini or z vibes I want to take the single hook off and put a 12 or 14 treble on , would I gain anything by adding a small split ring to get some "" seperation "" ? any thoughts appreciated !   THANKS

Been doing for years.  It's a trade secret, especially if you are baiting your hooks.  It's the same concept as a dropper rig only that it's using split rings and swivels, or just snaps.

You will also get more hook fouling on your line if you jig too aggressively.
