Technologically its not as simple as just copy and paste.
To be seen a picture has to be located on a server and if you have the address (URL) it will let you view the picture located on their server.

2 options for forums, the forum can host the pictures or they can be hosted by another website.  Forum hosted pictures make it easier but can start to really eat up bandwidth and server space especially if you have a large and active forum and that gets expensive.

Image hosting websites specialize in server space and compression to save space, its alot easier and cheaper to use this option.  My favorite is imgur.com

Is there a way where I can specify certain posts that I want to keep track of.  Instead of cycling through pages and pages of others that are not in my generalized area of the state?  Assuming there is a way I am just not aware of it.

Direct uploads mean the site hosts the pictures which would substantially increase costs. Photobucket sucks, try using Imgur for a quicker and easier experience. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to share pics.

Imgur works great for me,just up load your photos. Then edit them for size and pick how you want to like them on the right hand side.

I noticed that. Then after all that it cuts a good chunk of the pic off when posted. One day photobucket was so slow that i hit my computer thinking it was my older laptop(dumb i know) and the screen broke. 500 dollars later.

ive started using google photo for my picture hosting site. it uploads in the background so it doesn't slow your computer down, and all i have to do is right click the picture i want, select "copy image location" and then paste it into the image code on my posts.

technologically for a site to host your pictures the costs would be astounding.  there are hundreds of upload sites that make it super easy to post pictures on web forums it makes 0 sense for IS to do this.

There are two different ways.  First you can click the "Notify" button at the top of the page, I don't use this one so I'm not 100% sure but I think those notifications go to whatever email account you used to register.  The second is to reply in the thread, then when you log on click on the "Show new replies to your posts." link at the upper right of the screen by your avatar.
