Well it's officiall, after reviewing and reading some posts on the St.Croix Legend with spring bobber tip, I decided to take the plunge...and it was a heafty one at $50US...It's officially the most I have spent on a ice rod...and I still have yet to get a reel for it!

I do think it will be worth it, I love my premier St.Croix ice rod so adding another was an was an easy option.

So What is the most you have spent on 1 Ice rod and reel...and was it worth it?

Not a combo but I did spend $12 on a light icerod a few years ago. It was worth it.

35 dollars of a St. Croix combo. I love it, definately worth the money.

Thorne bros. panfish sweetheart and tica 6bb real model 500 about $105 and worth every penny, have a couple.

most of my rods are cheap HT blues 7-8 bucks but did spend 15 on a medium action rod once adn my reels are ussually 15-20 bucks for a micro spin shakespeare. I normally have 6 rods on hand at all times and 50-100 bucks for each combo would be an expensive investment. I ussually break a couple rods every year so the cheapies are the best for me. Broke 2 HT ice blues already this year no big deal when they are 7-8 bucks each

$50 CDN for a gold series Genz Stix Walleye combo. Rod is awesome when paired with an HT spring bobber, the reel is garboo.

i just pulled the trigger on 2 Thorne bros panfish sweetheart rods, but have yet to purchase the reels.

3 rods and 3 reels a total of $20. One of the rod & reel combos was purchased for $2. It was an old 6' bait caster with level wind reel. It is now a 36" jigging rod. Hoping to test it out on lake george for lakers.

30 on st croix avids. Bought a few of them and also have some premiers. I use and like quantum reels.

$32 for the St. Croix $20 for the reel = worth it. im not very carefull w/my cheap ol' rods that i doo have and am always breakin them. Got em about all weeded now. The more i spend on my rods the more i spend on rod cases the more i spend on rod holders the more i spend on jigs the more i spend on my flsher the more i spend on my sled the more i spend on ice sled the more i spend on my new clam yukon and on and on and on and............

I have a Penn 4300 on a custom built 38" med/hvy St Croix-$35 for the rod and I can't remember what I paid for the reel, it's from one of my summer rigs, most of my ice rods are $10-$15. Dirt cheap considering the quality of the components and the amount of time it's in use.....5+ mo yr. I've been thinking about getting one of St Croix's combo outfits, they seem like a good deal.
