technically Id reserve judgement till I see a MSDS about the product as it is a foreign product to the environment and the manuf doesn't list a msds so don't go there there are alot of products that state that but if you dump them in the water you could end up fined and in jail but as was posted it was a joke as was stated

The merchandise is an ice fishing product that is used to keep ice-fishing lines, rod eyelets and reels free of ice. A slip bobber-shaped device is placed on the line prior to attachment of a hook. The de-icer solution contains 50% water and 50% propylene glycol.

Look at boxes of cake mixes and you will see that propylene glycol is probably in the ingredients. Its used in low-toxicity car antifreeze. It's pretty safe but I still wouldn't advocate using it in lakes. Your holes may never freeze up

You could get a gallon of refill for $10 at the auto store.

ok here it is in Maine that stuff is a no no:

"Illegal use of antifreeze.
Adding substances containing ethylene glycol or other antifreeze agents to waters of this State is a violation of Title 38, §413."

they should really re-word that. isn't beer a "stupefying substance"? haha that's almost sacriliduous to most ice anglers.

I have been looking at this kit for my windless tip ups
saw it in in-fishermen article this month

I dont think the antifreeze gets in the water only the inside of the
stopper. If anyone has used one let me know.
I'm just thinking a slip bob would work
