HT's ice blue jig stick (model IBM-30) is a nice rod, and it's readily available in the eastern U.S. from what I've seen. Google the searchwords    " IBM-30 blue jig " and it should bring up detailed information and retailers for you.

As for reels, I have a basic HT reel lubricated with cold-weather lube, spooled with 12-pound test (quality) monofiliment line; this year I'm thinking of adding a flourocarbon leader connected to the monofiliment with a barrel swivel.

Although I've used jigging spoons (northland type), and rapalas, I may simplify this year and just jig a dead sucker on a quick strike rig.
