Anyone have an asian market nearby that they can get some nice big sardines at and mail them to me? Lol.

Pike eat sardines?  Have a few canned in oil and mustard laying around...

No idea about the pike but they are great on the grill. The canned ones just will not do. :-\

I know an old guy that only runs dead smelt under tipups,and before he sets his tipups he chums his holes with oil packed sardines.He has caught some nice fish! hes old school stick tipups and Swedish hooks :tipup:

I've been buying dead smelt from my local bait shop for 50cents apiece,but there not real big unfortunately 6-8",maybe A 10"

Look up a bait company in R.I. called "Sea freeze"  sardines, herring, mackerel ,smelts etc.

i have caught pike on sardines  found them in the frozen food section of the grocery store

LadtCast69 and our other friend did good on sardines over the weekend. Pike up to 15 pounds.

I get them whole from a local fish market and they do catch fish! Best to heavily salt them, keeps them in better shape. Nice thing about dead is you can keep using it till it won't stay on the hook. Only issue I've ever had is panfish will once in awhile eat the bellies out of the sardines.
