Thank you for that reminder. I never keep bass....ever....but that would’ve slipped me.
Also, my spy works for CSX and left town for some holidays OT so I lost him for now.
Absolutely ... trust me, it’s a reminder to a lot of people, although you would be shocked at how many people know the regulations but just don’t care. You seem like a good guy 👍

Anyone ever ice fish Hoel Pond? I camped there this summer and landed a lake trout. Not sure how many are in there or if the campgrounds are accessible in winter

Just looked it up to confirm and you are correct. No ice fishing allowed on the body of water

Looks like it will be cold and calm today/tomorrow. Thoughts on if it will be enough to lock up Schroon? Anyone have eyes on it?

With the north end freezing up last week I thought we would be fishing off Fowler soon, but the mild rainstorm blew everything out, ice is gone, so now we have to start over. With the long range not looking good til mid Jan, might be a very late year for Schroon, which is unusual.

Anyone know if Simon/Raquette pond opened up after the warmth/rain?
I know they wont be fishable for a while, just trying to gauge how bad it got.

Looking for a lake to hit while I wait for the lg. Anybody know what the ice conditions on schroon are like? Also can you access the lake from eagle point campground? Thanks

should have safe ice on the north end any day now
as for waiting on LG you may be outta luck till 2022
this season the king may not freeze and if it does youd be lucky to get a week or two at best

Nobody has been on it yet from what I can see.  lots of slush ice right now, but with night time temps in the teens all this week should start buttoning up.  Open water from Narrows south.

It’s way too early to make that statement. The water is cold enough-we just need some frigid temps.

End of week looks promising. Hoping like hell the damn snow all blows off the lakes so they can actually freeze this time.

Few years ago LG froze in March and a few of us got on it for hours.  To say the catch rate was exceptional would be an understatement.

im saving up my PTO for that very reason. Even if its only good for a week, i will make sure to take full advantage

You aren't kidding when you say the main lake was frozen for a few hours. The next day it was blown wide open. We made the best of the window that is for sure.

It was wild.  I remember Scotty being rather disturbed that I stayed out alone...but what a weird feeling to know your the only person in sight on that ice.
