Is there any public access to the deep water at the southern end of the lake? Anywhere in Adirondack? Or is maybe Taylor Point open for access?

I can sometimes get ahold of a four wheeler, but not all the time. The mile plus walk from Eagle Point is possible but I'd rather not make a habit out of it.

I'm familiar with how much snow fell. Got an answer to the question?

He's probably too tired from slaying them.  Eagle is the access.

Since your familiar with how much snow fell why don’t you get familiar with your drivers seat and go look for yourself

Because a two hour round trip in the dark just to drive through seems a bit excessive when there is an entire ice fishing based message board that was designed to share information. I was able to get a timely and useful response, like I expected. Don't worry, I won't steal your secret spot.

Thank you.

You're welcome but I can tell ya 'rufi has no spots to steal and if he did they'd be too long of a drag based on what you said.

Come on , stop giving all the secrets away.  We all know the fish swam downstream to lake George.
I'm only a weekend warrior but play hard.
Coming up on week 8 on 2018-19 ice season.
Sure  miss these conditions from last Saturday ( not schroon)  and got a feeling its gonna be a long hard drag from here until March.

The last time I've spent a weekend home from spending time in the woods or on the ice with my family and friends was October 6th.
If I'm not outdoors,  I'm not right.
Helping my son getting another deer of his lifetime at our hunting camp.

They are already good fishers 😀

Great photo!  Truly what it is all about.  I'm 62 and I took my boys fishing and hunting whenever I could when they were young.  I now have partners in the outdoors forever and can't wait to start the grandkids!

Jon, I'd like to learn as well.  I've got some gear.  Picked up a bow and got the clothes to do it.  I've been out a couple of times and spooked a few deer but between fishing and the hip issue I haven't been able to get out much.  Have a few buddies that hunt but they already have their circle of hunting guys so all I know is what I've read.  Let me know if you get into it.  There's some good spots right around you.

Definitely not as much fun as jigging lakers  ….  I did however choose deer hunting over early ice around Thanksgiving  ;D

Not that much too it. Practice shooting, scout out your areas and find trails and keep the wind in your face. I have stands in different areas and choose where I sit each day based on the wind direction.
Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.

I took up ice fishing 15 years ago to help pass the winter and then spring and summer trout fishing until archery season rolled back around! That being said, if I could do only one thing, hands down it would be hunting Elk!  Those who do, know what I mean! Plus, they are DELICIOUS! 😃
