How did the shoreline hold up??  Still getting on and fishing in the same spots as last week??  I'm sure the drag sucks and slushy....but I can manage that.  Thanks for any info/updates.

Fished Eagle Point today, parking lot is plowed out, shoreline is frozen, trail down the hill north and south of the pressure crack is packed from snowmobile traffic, 9in of good ice, no slush, bite was slow. I did not need snowshoes but they made things easier. I talked to two guys at the boat ramp behind Stewart's before I went out and they had checked the ice there and were headed out, hope they had a better bite than I did.

9" huh...place lost 5-6 inches from Sunday.  Water temp was 40 last Sunday.  Now with snow on top the ice is disappearing from underneath.  Knowing there is a thin spot in front of eagle special considerations must be made...one more time for me tomorrow...

Went to "check the ice" yesterday.  16" found so no departure from what I fished last Sunday.  Found the Lakers too but sadly either they were terrible at eating hooks or I had a rough day with my hookset.

Lots of snow on the ice still up there?  Thinking of maybe going narrows tomorrow, but might stay home and hit open water.

Good luck fishing the narrows it's been open water for almost 3 weeks

I fished it on the 7th and thats two weeks ago tomorrow, so you might be confused.  When people say the narrows "opened up" I think they mean the pressure ridges opened wider, but i'll try the north end if its a no go.  More worried about the parking, as i have a pretty good idea of where the ridge is, and i don't plan on crossing it.

Anyone else find the narrows to have become unsafe or open water? certainly all for saving time in the morning thanks!

When I drove from the north end of the lake to the south end on Friday 3/17 I could see a large area of open water in the Narrows.

Sounds like i won't mess with the narrows then.  Thanks.  My plan was to go south from the narrows and try the slopes out there, but no need to fish nearer to any open stuff.  Guess ill try the north end then, thanks for the info, ill post what i find.

I fished the narrows Saturday.  The open water is there...but I stayed to the north of it...measured 8-10" anywhere I drilled..   Jig was slow, tip ups kept me busy.  Oh yeah...drag sucked!!

Got out on the north end today from 8:30-6:30. Went out to the deep flats of the island and set flags and jigged.  Crusty snow turned to 5-6 inches of slushier stuff by the end of day.  Not the hardest pull though overall.  One decent laker on tipup (only flag all day) and one right before I left jigging, just shy of keeper.
Didn't measure ice but cause it was still very thick up that end.

I see what people are talking about on the narrows.
Here's a pic of what must have been open, looked fine if you were fishing the northern narrows, but I'd def spud.

Hopefully not the end of my ice season, I'd like to end it the appropriate way, with a skunking.

Visited the lake for the first time in over a month.   We have a bit of damage from ice shoving stuff around.

The lake has opened up up to the south channel.   Anybody want to troll?
