People keep telling me to downsize the bait if they aren't being aggressive. Hopefully we'll find them tomorrow!

Had 11 Lakers today all on the jigs
1 lonely flag , seemed the best bite was from 930-1130 for me today , also had a lot of missed hits
Only two under 18 , I kept one that was gut hooked and returned the rest, the other lakers were all 19-24inches
Fished in 35-50 feet of water a little NW of the island . Not once today did ya have to clear ice or slush outta the holes😎😎😎 100% visibility

12 for my buddy and I yesterday. An abundance of fish were marked.  Lots of interested fish but very hard to convince them to commit. Trick was size and presentation. Early morning big jigs hardly bounced on the bottom worked then tiny aggressively jigged lures by noon.    Lots of smelt early on that all had big marks chasing them with action to follow; pretty exciting.

Really pretty laker! I think the trout there are more colorful than LG.

Planning to head up tomorrow morning on the north end.  I'm pretty sure it is safe but was wondering how the ice is holding up?  Thanks.

Schroon lakers are definitely prettier than lg or champ fish

It does Tony and I had another one like it this weekend!  Tough gig being a laker in that lake!

Also I would suggest to those of you who have FB (I don't use it) be mindful of what you post.  Bragging about catching in a particular area, one with a dangerous ridge is the type of mindless action that can get people hurt. Especially when it's a spot someone fell in Sunday before last. I'm sure the intentions are solid but remember today's society believes everything on the Internet and they don't use spud bars.

Fishing on Eagle Lake today, conditions were great, 13" ice, caught several decent perch, couple smallish pike, and this nice 18" brown trout, which made a tasty dinner!

Looks like the scar a laker would get if it got hit by a kicker motor.  A few Lakers make the ultimate sacrifice to my pro kicker every year

Nice Brown... I plan to hit Schroon for the first time on Wednesday and probably again on thursday wondering how the ice is from the launch behind stewards to the island?

Best part of any trip up near Schroon is stopping and filling up a growler or two of Beaverbite IPA at the Paradox brewery

Thanks again for the reminder .....  a new tradition is in place  ;D

Right on.  It's my usual stop coming back from Westport after some salmon fishing    Just not much room to park the boat but I generally make it work.

I saw on the news paradox brewery may be going to exit 29 in the old frontier town. That would be nice since I drive by it every weekend on my way to camp.
