I was asked how much snow was on the ground today.  I had no idea since the high temps and rain.  It was like 9" last weekend.  Is any left?

Not much, mostly hard, frozen packed snow, and patches of glare ice.

Hey all, I'm planning a solo trip up sometime next week, 2 days, sometime between monday & thurs (waiting to see the weather develop).  Is the lake very busy on weekdays? I'm mostly interested in jigging lakers, and was eying a few spots on narrows and north end, has the narrows frozen yet?

If there isn't any wind you might see a lot of close-up in the next 3 days.

Doubt it was any of you guys, but had a snowmobiler put his sled through today. He's ok. Sled is on bottom. Let's use our brains folks.

This morning I drove up east shore dr and the ice extended up to just below Adirondack.

Maybe it'll close up tonight?  It's going to be cold!

Went to Brant today and the 3 of us kept 43 perch.

What is the Adirondack, Adirondack Inn?  I was under the impression that the north end is good, is that not the case?  Sorry for all the questions, just trying to understand where ice has been, and hasn't, in case it all has a dusting on in when i go.  Thanks

We were out today and saw a few sleds. Sad to hear that happened. It's a rough 5-7 inches north end. Wait another week or two before using your machines, in my opinion. There's hardly any snow and the ice thickness was all over the place.

Ill be out there on saturday with  bornoutside and our crew of guys. Well report back in, Ill probably have a more interesting report though due to the fact that ill catch more fish then he will.

With some well placed jigs I was able to ice 8 lakers coming out of fowler road today, sorry to say that step2jimi was only able to match up with 7 of them  ;D.    5 keepers out of 8 made for a great first day of laker fishing for the year.    Had chasers right up till about 3 o'clock then it all died off fast and the lakers changed over to perch.

At least the guy made it out safe, I was surprised how many sled tracks I saw froze in the top slush  ::)
I'll always ❤️

Adirondack is a town midway on the lake.  It has a deep hole in front of it.

Locked up in front of the town beach at Adirondack!   Is it locked up down to the narrows?

Unfortunately we watched the 2 sleds fly by us headed south and then watchef one of them disappear in front of eagle point while the front sled just kept going... sounds like there is a red skidoo in the bottom now was patchy open water yesterday there but no ice fishing gear on sleds. Did manage 6 lakers and the gf got 3 was a slow go fish were sluggish all day

Still is and around 2 inches of ice on the opposing side. Not sure about the narrows though.

What's the access point for the North end? Marina Road? Usually go in from Eagle POint, but seems too early for that.

Thanks.

Just be real careful on the south basin, most of that was open water Thurs-Fri.   That being said, areas that had an inch of ice Sat had 3" Sunday, so lake is making crazy ice right now.  13 below last night.

Went fishing from a boat for the first time on this lake back in  September. Usually I only ice fish it. I was hammering perch on the north end. Have not been up there on ice. Does that area usually stay pretty open due to the tributary?  Or does the ice get thick enough to go out on?
