Has anything closed up on the South end?  If not, I'll probably be up off the North end tomorrow.  I'd go up tonight, but the thought of trying to warm up a cabin at night doesn't sound fun.

Somebody had a truck out there off north end today.  We did measure 9-12" yesterday off the boat launch towards Island.

Heading up to Schroon Monday for my first time there.  Probably going out from the beach or Fowlers.  Hope to have some luck.

I didn't see any, but there were guys off Adirondack this morning.  I hope they had better luck than I did.

Schroon is making ice like crazy. North end is safe past the island. Didn't go further than that 8-12" depending qhere ya go. and it's  making more. Bring creepers. Barely any snow. Lots of glare ice

Caught my first laker ever.completed one of my goals for this year  ;D

I use the same style tip up.  One of mine has the brass spool.  The others have plastic.  It looks like it has a name on it.

Thought I would contribute, 4 guys on Sunday, North End, Targeting perch ended up with 2 Lakers and about 30 perch all thrown back (our shiners could have ate them). Lakers were caught with perch jigs. Maximum depth fished was about 30 feet minimum depth was 5 feet. Ice was 6 to 8 inches consistently. We had an underwater camera and water visibility was very poor maybe 2 to 3 feet if that makes a difference to anyone. Lakers captured on the camera were in depths less than 30 feet believe it or not. Hope this helps-- turned into a beautiful day, very slick out there- but made for an easy drag. Definitely recommend ice cleats or you will be doing the shuffle all day.

Pretty good day of jigging lakers, with a few fat 21-23" ones, all released; tip-ups were slow. Looks like smelt population is doing well, trout were spitting them up.

Just got a message from the DEC.  As soon as they deem the ice safe, they will open the gate at Eagle Point for access.

No doubt, I saw that show a couple of years ago.  Luckily there was a very nice fellow with a f350 to haul them out.

Buy some suckers and bring plenty of beer.  If you hold your mouth right you should b fine...  Fowler road right across from the road, get about 100 yards off shore good jigging water
