hello everyone, yesterday i brought my girlfriend out ice fishing, it was cold. Finally got her talked into letting me buy a new shack. Just looking for something cheap, easy to set up, and only want to spend about 200 bucks. Any ideas would be appreciated.

i got the shappell ice house 6000. it can hold more than 3 people if you use it as a base camp, but i have 3 people comfortably in mine for jigging. its a great deal for 200, and its easy to set up. takes about 2 minutes

Very good deal, there is a thread on these in the ice shack section

I get the feeling that if I had to ask my girlfriend for permission to buy a larger ice shack, I would have no use for it. :o ;)

I would second the Glen's Outdoor's 6X6 Hub. I bought one and have used it ten times this year, I love it! I took some pics and wrote a review here.....

The above is the best informative link, thanks to MN Bassfisher.
Here is a little history of the hub development and refinements.

I didnt really have to ask her just make her under stand that it would be warmer for her and there would be a better chance for some of our friends to go out with us. it was here first time out christmas day and we both cramed into my one man clam.

I have the Clam Base camp. Not sure if it's the best, but I really like it. Easy set up as well as take down. Definitely makes taking the kids allot more fun. ;D

how well to hub styles do in the wind? the whole the doesnt want to collapse in does it
-
Tie off to the up-wind hub ties with the straps included with GLEN'S geo3.

I own the Eastman "IceCube" 6x6 Hub style (Same as Glenns 6x6)...it's roomy enough for 4 people, easy set up and take down. I like it. But, keep in mind, I don't move around the l;ake a lot.
If you want to be really mobile...take a look at the 3 Man Pack Shak. Has a built-in chair for 3, just open the chair, sit ddown and flip the shelter over your heads.....that's all!! Want to move?? Just fold up the chair and GO! I own the 1-man model and use it whenever I go alone. Comes in it's own bag with straps to use as a back pack to carry.

Got a link for these shelters? Thanks
