Sweet, I was wondering as well.  Heading to jackson tomorrow and was hoping the warm temps this week didnt kill it.  Looks cold down that way right now though!

I’m hoping you were talking about the lure and that you weren’t fishing naked!  That’s a bad image right there!!!!

We were on the ice about 15 minutes before sunrise. The bite started about 7:30.

I caught a dozen nice crappies 2 weeks ago, caught only 2 yesterday.  That place got hammered good for the last month.  Ice was still 7 inches as of yesterday.

Little slow but managed to put one in the sled. Lost a much larger fish after a few minute battle. Released a bunch of those little fighters.

Fished jackson 5pm to 8pm.. ice was 9-10". wherever the walleye were, wasnt where i was :'( did catch a carp that took up my entire 10" hole.. marked what i think were lots of carp, every few min.  Used jiggin raps and slender spoons with lil minners.  Was fishing between the inlet and dam in the southeast corner.  Staying in fort morgan tonight gonna try a diff part of the lake tomorrow.  On the brite side, the rodeway inn in fort morgan is newly remodeled, cheap AF, and has an attached resturuant and bar that is open late. ;D highly reccomended

ColoradoScott, only caught 3 walleye. Two were too small, one nice keeper. It was kinda brutal Friday, cold and windy, so we were hunkered down at the first holes we drilled and did not explore.

Nice, gents!  Looks like those lakes are producing some fish recently --crappie, eyes...and carp!  Might be some of the only fishable ice soon in the metro/East.

Tim, at least you didn't get the skunk!   ;)  bet that was a good fight.  Hope you find some eyes this am

No thanks, I only asked because we are talking about 3 different lakes on this thread. You can keep your 1- 15.5 inch walleye a secret if it's really that important to ya!  ;)

History lesson, 7th US president who also is on the $20 bill.  Actually it was a 19” walleye.   ;D  Good luck and tight lines.

:roflmao:  I too thought you were looking for monetary compensation, good one.

Jackson was not very good to me this morning.  Caught 2 wiper and thats it.  Marked a lot of stuff, whatever it was.  Lots of schools of something, if they were crappies ive never seen such disinterested crappies.  Wouldnt hit a hali or marmooska with waxies.  Did still take home some fish at least

Naw, I’d only ask for monetary compensation if I was providing guide service then you would also get shore lunch and a heated house.  @) I too like the information on these threads and or even meet up with some of you for a days fishing.  If I wanted to keep it a secret, I wouldn’t post anything. It’s nice to know that a body of water isn’t dead and a total waste of time and there is safe ice.

Yesterday, I noticed the same thing on my fish radar, haven’t noticed that on previous trips. It covered 3’ of the water column. I was thinking baitfish, only a camera could confirm. I haven’t had much luck in the morning hours there. Safe travels!

Is the water clairty at jackson always poor??  I could barely see my transducer in the bottom of the hole on 8" of ice.  I did pick up some shiver minnows (jiggin rap knock off) at cabelas which I noticed glowed very well in the stained water.   The schools of whatever kept coming thru suspended had to be baitfish, after it happened a dozen times and i couldn't catch one thats what Im telling myself at least.

Ice off the boat ramp was not as thick as down by the dam by a few inches, maybe 7"

History lesson. People with the name pike who luck into a few walleye think they just became god.  I mean I would too.  Id take one 15" walleye over a zillion pike that all weighed 30 lbs. 20 bucks must be the going rate for pike guides.  This dude has a lot to learn about walleye
