Wheelhouse Dolly
« on: Nov 18, 2012, 09:36 AM »
Hey Guys-

I have a 7x14 wheelhouse, and it has quite a bit of tongue weight, where if i needed to pull it with a fourwheeler i dont think that it would work the best. I was wondering if any of you have made some sort of dolly with wheels that hooks up the to receiver on the fish house, so all the weight is resting on the dolly, and then some kind of hitch from the dolly to the receiver on the fourwheeler? Any ideas or pictures are greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I've got the Road Dog tongue ski.  http://www.roaddogoutdoors.com/BigFootTowSki.asp

It handles the fish house well, but the problem is traction for the ATV.  Even chained up, I have a little trouble getting it moving on bare ice.  My shack weighs 3600 lbs and I'd guess I have 300lb of tongue weight.

That's kinda what I was thinking but with wheels. Kinda like the front landing gear of a plane and then something pulling it. The ski looks pretty good though.

You need one of these, with the pneumatic rubber wheel it will roll easier.  http://www.princessauto.com/pal/product/8007019/Standard/500-lb-Pneumatic-Bolt-On-Swivel-Trailer-Jack
