Yes I made it on the 3 inches of ice at a local high altitute lake here in northern BC. Took the quads up the mountain and had a great afternoon catching 5 rainbows each from 1-3 lbs. Man it is nice living up north sometimes. They are in the smoker and will be done soon. Yum Yum :P
Anyone else on the ice yet???

Can you post any pics of the frozen lakes?!!! I'd love to see that for motivation. We are -15 degrees celcius in Calgary this morning and more cold weather is forecast so the ice should be forming as we speak yeeeeeeeeeehawwwwwwwww wwwww!

Don't have a digital camera guys, sorry. I'm off to Ontario for some whitetail hunting tomorrow. Back in 2 weeks. Friend has a digital so will be borrowing it when I get back so will try and post some pics. Should be hard in the lower lands around here by then. The rainbows sure looked good on the hard black stuff ;D

WENT 2 DAYS AGO. GOT ABOUT 5IN OF ICE UP HERE.CAUGHT 3 BROWNS BETWEEN 12 TO 19 IN.GOT A3LB PICKREL+A BUNCH OF SMALLER PICKREL. HAD TO TRAVEL SOUTH TO FISH BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE PLENTY OF ICE RIGHT NOW,MOST LAKES UP HERE DONT OPEN UNTIL JAN 1.SUCKS!GOT A LAKE UP HERE WITH MUSKIE IN IT.GOING TO TRY IT OPENING DAY.BUDDY OF MINE GOT A 32LB AND A 12LB LAST YR.LOOKING FOREWARD TO IT.

WOW! That polar bear pic is to much. I love it.. Good ice isn't to far off in up state N.Y. If this little warm spell leaves and stays gone . Lots of small lakes with 3-5 inches of ice. H.W.W
