Snow-Grind
« on: Jan 24, 2024, 03:13 PM »
Headed out solo this morning around five. I hit the bait shop at 6:30 I was on my favorite two trap lake with skinny ice by 730. Ice was I suppose 4 inches maybe five at best closer shore,  but only three where I was fishing. action all morning on the sonar 12 feet over 20. flags in 10 ofw right next to the shore. I had seven flags total and two to fish iced. Great day.  storm bite was on. Both fish were bigger than expected. Laker was probably 22. Bow probably 18 . Both fat and coughing up smelt.

Nice Job.... curious, were you fishing smelt?  Just wondering what they hit since they were coughing up smelt so it was available to them.

Thanks

Thanks... I thought that would be the case - i.e. match the hatch,  but figured I'd ask for those days when smelt are hard to come by.
