Cusk Fishing on Sebago
« on: Mar 04, 2009, 08:02 AM »
 ;D
The fishing at night on Sebago has been a productive adventure for cusk.
I have Caught about 20 cusk ranging from 15" to 30".  The fish seem to be aggressive for anything you bounce of the bottom or dead bait right on the bottom.  They are pretty good in chowder, soaked in buttermilk, and then chowder as usual.

plenty of Ice watch around the ridges and plowed areas, sebago is full of springs and you should always use caution.  Set up before night fall and get to know the areas before you push the limits, but the inside pressure ridge is still good and has plenty of ice.

only 7??  wow.. I watched Robbfishing jigg out 12 or so in 20 minutes Saturday at east grand!!!!  Jig with glow in the dark airplane jigs, with a white berkley grub on the last hook, in 80-90 feet of water.. The cusk are done spawning, they are back in the deep water now.  Along with the Dead bait routine..

Is there plenty of parking over there? How deep did you fish if you don't mind me asking. I was thinking about going tonight or tomorrow night.

I fished the inner side of the island.  Most fish were caught in 10 to 15 fow. You will see my tracks from the wheeler from when i was making the rounds.  The two end traps were producing most of the fish.  Good luck
