Did some redneck designing and weight calculations today, i may have bought to many barrels. but more is better right? can always drop a few out if needed. With the barrel layout i have it will float 10,000 pounds. The layout i have drawn up it will weigh 5500 pounds without people.
Is it ice time yet???

100 - 30 paks of 12 oz.  Bud Lite =  2250 lbs. Plus Propane Fridge =  427 lbs  =  Total  2677 lbs.   ;D

Should i use 2x10 pressure treated or 2x12? I figured it for 2x12. Will i lose that much strengh? I alredy have figured the weight difference.

Most likely will only need 50- 30 packs for a 3 day weekend. Got a pelican cooler for the beer.

How much weight sitting on top ?  Will the barrels be set individually  or in rows ?

How big is the float going to be? The span really determines the size of the joist. Have you already bought the PT? Hemlock will be cheaper, lighter and it is pretty rot resistant because it has a good level of tannic acid in it, not as much as cedar but close and it will not leach harsh chemicals into the fishing enviroment. Check Parkers in Bradford or Yoders in Corinna or Crescent in Stillwater.

Think i will be using 2x10s. Going to double up the outsides anyhow so i think it will be strong enough.
