« on: Oct 19, 2005, 08:50 AM »
I was planning on come up to these lakes around christmas time...was just wondering if there will be safe ICE on them by then or should i just plan on going to the U.P. instead???? what are some good lures and jigs to use for the walleye, gills, crappie and perch on these lakes....

Thanks,
Jim

I never had much luck on Cadillac, but Mitchell has been pretty productive for me. Ive got crappie and gills on sweedish pimples, rapalas and halis, tiped with wax worms or mousies. Your best shot is fishing for northerns using tip ups with "pike minnows" about three foot down. The walleye fishing used to be great, but is way down right now, (in my experince). I cant tell you what the ice will be like at Christmas time, it will be real "iffy".
