Better not be.  I've got a new shanty on order.

Predicting the weather in Michigan is a fools errand.  Just ask the local weather reporters.

Sorry but I hope so...(run and hide)

Kids and I fished every weekend and the thin ice was nice for those of us without power augers...

I always like to say we are lucky here in Southern Michigan to be on the ice before Christmas. With that being said, I don't get too bummed out until about the second week of January. So I'm trying to not even think about ice fishing or ice or cold so I don't get my hopes up. It's so easy to do when you see below freezing temps in the extended and then it flops to mid 40s and rain.  But without announcing this too loudly, I hope we get ice really frickn soon!!
You may call me crazy, but crazy catches fish!

Lake Mitchell was 95% covered in ice this morning on my way to work...the water is ready and has been for almost a month...we just need those 2-3 magical nights with no wind and temps in the teens!!

Hang in there everyone!!

It's a fine line between fishing & sitting on the ice like an idiot

You better bite your tongue buddy I did not get out once last year unless I wanted to drive 50 miles north. We need at least some ice this year. Hear is to hoping for colder weather and for Santa to bring this guy a nicer auger so he can cut thicker ice lol.

Being from the upper penninsula, last year was quite disheartening, ice wise. 2 years ago we averaged about 30" of ice and that lasted a good 3 months. Last year we only hit 18" max where I live, and it was a very short month and a half. Lets hope we get more ice and a longer season this year, to all my Michigan hard water friends, fingers crossed.

we can only hope everything is locked up for the late duck season!!!!  Makes my huntin even better!! Wouldnt mind getting on the ice fishing this year either.  Looks like next week will be a little closer to the weather we need...  Not making it out of the 30's all week and in the 20's at night.

Looked at my gas and electricity bill for November, it. Gives average temps for current month versus last year.  November in 2012 was 3.5 degrees cooler than November of 2011.  I think that is a good sign.

I have 3 different people in 3 different areas in the UP telling me they are on ice. One near Marquette, one in the Sault, and one way over to the Western side...they might be lyin, but I sure hope not. It's giving me hope that its moving its way down.

I have seen some guys from the UP posting some pics on the ice this season. Last year just left a really bad taste in my mouth. I am going to remain optimistic.

Damns higs I felt a cool breeze just looking at that! As for ice report I was walking on 3-1/2" in a bay 3 days ago then 2 days ago I was on a lake that had 4" but it varied where ever you were on it. Now I look out the window at this depressing weather think is it even worth to check and see if the lakes held up...
