Seen on the news the coast guard rescued  nearly 50 fishe=man when the ice broke loose

I seen it on the news said over 100 fisherman involved 46 needed to be rescued no one hurt thank God

Same thing happened last year also. Winds change and break off the ice ,  the coast guard even went out to recover the gear because if they didn’t they knew guys would put themselves in danger to go back out and get it.

The 1st recuse is free, if they got to go out a 2nd time for the same fishermen that went back out to get their gear it's a fine.  I was told this by the Coast Guard at Sandusky, Ohio many years back when we went back out to get our gear after being brought across a large split.
