Ahhh you give your wife the same option too? Lol

Sure I do, we'll be married 41 years this May. Arguing with her is futile!
The secret to fishing.....fish where the fish are.

Bring the kids fishing, yes. Wasn’t aware you brought your daughter very often just judging by your posts here... which obviously isn’t a accurate way to judge someone.

We tend to spend more time together in the boat but she loves to ice fish too!

For me I am glad the cold weather has continued and the ice is still fishable. Celebrated my 70th couple years ago. Seen friends pass and others no longer able to make the long walk to the fishing grounds. So I am going when ever the weather is decent. Thankful for every day I have got. Two more weeks for me then off to the Rockies. Bubblers will have most probably done in my access by time I return

2 members of my family it seems also hit a wall. 1 has braved the winds of oneida this week.  The other works 12 hrs 6 daya a week outside fixing major manufacture equipment,  yea the big stuff.

Like I said in the beginning. At some point week after week for extended periods , everyone hits a wall and needs a break.
Don't worry,  I know there are still probably 4 solid weeks and I will surely be ice fishing in sunshine heaven before people start ask where the safe ice is again,  lol

Lol, deer hunting for us is staying in the woods 24/7 be it a tent or an enclosed box. Do that for a long while and you better get you act together because there is no hot shower or lazy boy to comeback to,  lol.

Week 18 in the books.
We did ok on the local perch.  I kept 10 .
When they average over 12" , we only need 10 for a good meal for a few of us.
I'd like to see Rowan eat 10 of them fatties,  lol.
2 more weeks for me then I'm bagging my season. Probably hit northern deep water lakes to finish up.
Far too many projects coming up in early April with the farm, garden and getting boat ready for stripers.

Normally the 3 of us can eat 10 no problem lol. I had to pick up hard wood flooing yesterday and did t have time to go fishing. Might hit up kinderhook lake later with my father-in-law .  I’ll probably take Rowan out one more time next week. Weather looks warm. Almost time to unwrap the boat and get it ready for the Hudson run. Lots of work needs to be die before it goes in the water !

I lived on kinderhook lake and its still only  15 minutes from my house.
It's a lake I don't ice fish.
There is no public access in winter.  If you think the Dec launch is access,  think again.  Its open water there , all winter.
Also,  while some nice ( even  state record ) fish are caught there, it a polluted lake with pcb.
I won't eat anything from there

Called the season this Thursday. Got skunked on keuka and found out my dog had cancer.
Time for me to get the gear out to stock the restaurants with bull head. Make a little money before I got back to work
Disclaimer:
I make statements based on my experiences in the location I fished only. Check ice conditions for yourself.
Stay safe. Tight lines.

I parked my boat in back yard in June right after stripers ended.  Stupid me didn't put it on boards thinking I'd pull it back out.  Well the relentless rains came and it sunk to the axles.  Even a backhoe couldn't get it out.
I been slowly trying to jack it outta the frozen ground then pull it before ground thaws.
Yup, much work to do

Yeah I wouldn’t eat any thing out of it. It’s poluted from Nassau lake. My father in-law lives around the corner from the lake. The lake does have a few public access points. Just not much parking. Just an easy spot to hit on a Sunday. Bunch of dink perch and one white perch.

Is that a Starcraft islander ?  I had one just like that but it was a sea nymph I just sold by big boat last year and got a fishing boat.

Yup it's a 221 islander.  Tin boat,  not overly expensive and great for anything I've thrown at it.
Someday I will retire to a flybrigde walk in 32 foot tank on the great lake and keep the tin boat as just a river runner.

I used to live across from the kinderhook lake house when it was public in 1983. I know of no other public access of now on that lake other than dec car top launch.
The lake association ruined it and they are not public access parking.

I see no rod holder's, rocket launchers or down rigger mounts on those " fishing boats ".
Mine fishes well ..

The Robalo has a huge brass rocket launcher on the top of the hard top. Brass rod holders on the hard top bars. and flush mount  along the rails . I had down riggers on my sea nymph, sold them with the boat.

We fish 6 rods on the great lake Ontario.  4 -5 rods live lining on the Hudson. Wife won't sleep on boat because no headroom.  I sleep 2 people every week.
Many boats perform many duties.
My biggest lake trout was from a canoe on a brook trout pond.
Unexpected,  32" . 4 lb test on an ultra light rod.

Not quite,  but if its phish related I guess its cool.

There is no shortage of ice locally below the blue line but I did notice the shorelines are warming.
There was a plank on the outflow access I did yesterday

The shorelines will take a beating locally here this week.
Not sure if your toy boat is ready for my favorite Great Lake in 500 fow  yet , lol.
Nothing compares to this for a lake.
Or striper river.
