seasons over before it got started

 Just as we are all getting the itch, getting the gear ready, buying new toys to help the season, I go and break my ankle. Doctor says no walking for 8 to 10 weeks because of the surgery required to pin and plate my ankle.After that i get a plastic walking boot, dont know if I trust that on the ice, guess I could put some self tapping screws in it. Good luck to all this season.

I went out on the ice in crutches a couple years ago. Granted, all i did was jig, but it was better than nothing! As long as there's a little snow cover (not too much). Mabye you could try? I dunno just giving an idea, but im really sorry about that that sucks.

Man that sucks......but that what they invented sleds for.....or even your truck...as soon as the ice is thick enough......I'm sure you'll get out there some how!!

Friends with quads or sleds would be getting me on the ice. I would have to bed to miss an ice season!

sorry to hear the bad news.......like the other guys said, "maybe somebody could tote you out on a snowmobile or atv." then you could sit in a chair and man one of the hot traps or jig. good luck with everything.         jibbs

Ive got a quad, and a shack, maybe I can get everybody who came out to eat all my food, and drink everything in it to help a little this year. Seems like  I always got stuck with buying everything and moving everything to and from the shack. You guys are right, its time to call in some favors, either that or they dont go fishing.

dont know the size of your foot but im a 13 and with my big boots foot size is bigger than walking cast i had a few years back and i can but rubber stretch cleats that fit good luck and hope you get out a good walking stick with a nail in the end helps me get around on the ice and im paralized in my right leg from below the knee and i have a broken back slow and safe is still fun
