Sutherlin Help
« on: Feb 13, 2014, 01:04 PM »
I fished for long on the west end by the dam last weekend right at dark and nothing. Any of you veterans on here have a better suggestion on where to setup next time ?

Thanks

My best luck on Sutherlin has been in the middle of  the reserevoir.  If you take the next access off the highway (east of the dam) coming from White Sulphur there is an island visible during low water, directly south of where The North Fork of the Smith enters.  Setup in about twenty feet of water for Rainbows, Brookies, and Whitefish.

I have found that 30 to 40 feet of water works the best for me for Ling. Right off the bottom and jig a lot. Mo. Ling set in deep water for the most part and move in to feed. Fishing the slopes after dark is usually the best. Mo.
