I dont have one but I heard someone had similar issues. He noticed that the fuel lines were bent at a 90 deg angle which restricted the fuel. Make sure the lines are strait to allow the flow of fuel and trim them up if you have to.

If it's under warranty, I'd take it in to a certified service center. If you ruin something trying to fix it it'll void the warranty. If it is just out of warranty, politely explain to the manufacturer how you used the unit properly and did not abuse it and you have been happy with the product until now... so on... and if you're persuasive enough they may honor the warranty.
It must be something in the water.

Davek, I had what appears to be the same issue when I first bought my Honda. First time on the ice it would start, bog down and die, start it again it would stall and die. Went home frustrated that afternoon looking for answers. I found it on another thread, someone contacted Strikemaster and they told him that they tuned down the idle screws to make sure there were no incidents on initial start up. I adjusted my idle screw to higher rpms and haven't had any issues since. Try adjusting your idle screw to see if it makes a difference, it's located under the air input and near the primer bulb.

Had similar issues with my Clam auger and found it was the fuel lines coming off. Put zip ties on to get through last year and Clam sent me new tighter lines that work great.
