Who's getting the itch?
« on: Oct 09, 2017, 05:09 PM »
Any one else getting their stuff ready?  I built a new bait tank and have been doing a little work on the wheelhouse, snow machines and auger.  Let's hope for a good winter with plenty of ice.

Getting pretty antsy myself...re-stringing lines, organizing jig boxes from last year, new wheeler tires...bring it on!

I love watching as many youtube ice fishing "episodes" as I can. When they start uploading new videos, you know we're getting close!

Ready. New auger blades. New line. New reels. Smitty sled mods. Not time to trap my own bait but that sounds so fun. Maybe someday. Hospital schedule doesnt allow it. Scouting areas for derby too. Ice seasonis close in theory but waters got a long way to go in terms of cooling down.

Was down in CT this past weekend and stopped at Cabella's. Most of the ice fishing gear is out. Got a JawJacker setup.

Yep, very itchy here... I am on the hunt for an electric auger so I'm getting in that mode now! Not looking great for early ice though. Been really, REALLY warm!

I start the change over next month.

there's still plenty of open water (and possibly some salt) to be had.

Mind telling how you rig for Walleye? I mainly use mine for trout, but would love to get some eyes on them. Thanks!

I would buy from them if I wanted one of those but I'm sold on a K-Drill and a Milwaukee M18 Fuel setup. Might wait until black Friday.

I am starting to look forward to ice fishing, but still, have lots of open water fishing I want to do; Walleye in the Conn. River, stripers, Tautog, pollock, trout, still getting bass on topwater and tuna are still biting! Also the longer my furnace stays off the better... Yes, I like and look forward to ice fishing, but it can't hold a candle to tuna on topwater...

why get rid of them... they make great pickerel bait... small ones work good on trout and smelt...
