She just rolls her eyes at me. I don't bother discussing it, because she won't get it. Although she did buy me new ice fishing tip ups, rod and thermals for my bday.

She doesn't mind, she's a good woman and a great wife. Wasn't like that when we were first dating and married(hunting and fishing I mean). She loosened up after figuring out that I was really in the woods or on the water and not at a bar or something. By the time I started doing the Shanty, she was hip. Winning a couple tournaments or even placing helped, a little return on the investment ya know. Once in awhile I get a moan or two, but a little her time is really what she's after. You gotta 'splain your passion and share your time to keep the peace.

She decided to have " ex " put in front of her status to show her disapproval to the sport of ice-fishing, and because I was not an orphan and had a family that she needed to hate. When she finds an orphan without opinions or hobbies she will be all set.

Shawner, it's worked out about the same for me. It was a little tough when we were young but after 30 years she knows summer will come. For Christmas I bought her a rock. She bought me two rods and a case.

Yeah Catchaser, a little time spent together goes a long way. Give her some quality time and you should get some quality ice or Shanty time. Still can't get her to go though, she does like that I take the kids to give her some shopping or girlfriend gossip time. If they're happy................. ...................!
