I'm the only one in my group of friends that has one.  Striker Climate bibs and jacket.  Haven't worn it with the liners since it hasn't been cold enough.  Usually only wear my Under Armor 4.0s beneath it.  I also haven't seen many other float suits (any brand) around.  A lot of Carhartts though.

I fish alone. Wife made it mandatory. Striker HW bibs and Climate coat. Ice is 1/2 gone on this lake, so I'll have the suit on in the next couple days when I start to open water fish..

I'm not sure how many people have them in Northeastern Pennsylvania but I'm sure there will be quite a bit more that will after this years season since the ice was iffy quite a bit.  I have the Striker Hardwater and cant' say enough good things about it.  I'm happy with it and would definitely buy it again.

I don't get out much, less even see others on ice.  I will say, I haven't seen anyone else with a floating suit.

Not me. I avoid thin or rotten ice. But in the day and age of guys fishing until they need to be rescued, they are probably a good idea

The Mustang is a 3 season suit. Meets the requirements for boating in cold weather as well as added safety on ice. The other so called flotation suits are not US Coast Guard Rated.

I have owned one for probably 10 years. Artic Armor. I have ice fished for 40 years. Never had a problem. But I went in the first time I wore the suit. What a wonderful feeling ...knowing I was not going to sink. Will never fish without it

The last few years I've done the majority of my fishing between Monday and Friday so do not see that many other fishermen. I'm guessing 20% or less own a floatation suit. Depending on how much gear you wish to purchase ice fishing can become an expensive sport/hobby . So I can see people not wanting to buy a special suit just for ice fishing. Also not sure how many know the suits are out there for purchase. I knew about the Mustang suit Rg has but did not here about other suits until joining Ice shanty .

After a close call out on Sturgeon Bay one year that included rolling ice, planking to get off and screaming kids, as well as myself, I bought one.

I will be getting one in the future, but until I can afford it I fish in my snowmobile gear.

I don't have one. I ask myself every time I am going fishing,  Is there a chance I will fall in today?  If I answer yes, I stay home and watch tv.

So you know where every spring hole and weak spot is? To be honest, no matter what ice you're on, there's a chance.

I don't own a floating suit and don't have any plans to at this time. When I venture out on any ice that I have questions about, I am wearing a PFD outside my coat. Once I get out to where I'll be fishing and determine the ice is definitely safe all over, the PFD comes off.

When I am fishing a spot where other people have already ventured out on the path I am taking, AND I know the weather has stayed cold enough to maintain safe ice, I don't bother wearing the PFD. I also do not risk fishing late ice after a string of warm days, no  matter what people are reporting the ice thickness to be.

You're right Rg, but they are not well advertised, if I had known about them I would have gone for one of those instead
of my Artic Armor suit. But I will say at first hand experience my AA suit works the way it is advertised to do.

Are they pricey? yes! but how much do people spendon other things, shantys ,rods flashers etc. that are NOT life saving? I will buy a float suit any time over some of the other stuff. just my .02 cents.

Well I got some hard water bibs this year.
Perhaps the coat next season.my fishing
Bud has none.so that's 25 percent..I guess.
Our last trip out made us think about it.
Rolling ice and oozing pressure Cracks..  :o
These suits will not give me a false sense
Of security or make me go when the ice
Seems punky.they are no substitute for
Common sense.
