click on your area, then clink on the "reflectance layer only" button right at the bottom. It gives you the most up-to-date aerial photograph of the area selected. I use it to keep tabs on the ice on places like Lake George and Champlain, but works even better with the great lakes, and the large canadian lakes.
Sometimes the daily pictures are somewhat obscured by clouds, but usually there's at least one or two clear shots per week.
