Wasn’t on bitter but he will have house’s on bitter from time to time. Group of us used JR’s. Great guy to deal with. Shacks were clean, had an issue with our propane at 2am and called him, he was there within 10 minutes and had us up and going.

We used JR's last year on Bitter.  Very clean ice castles.  Last year he added a Black night if you have a big crew or looking for a lot of room.  He is also upgrading houses this fall.  We had a 17' outlaw which we really liked.  Storm was coming in that Saturday night so we left early.  Fishing was tough but was that way for everyone we talked to.  JR was a standup guy and would definitely go with him again.  We also rented from Matt West (Wild West Outfitters) on Pickeral Lake which is just north of Bitter and East of Waubay Lake.  We had a bigger Ice castle with a slide out that trip which was nice.  Fishing was still tough and spotty.  He did move us once that weekend and checked in on us a lot.  Even came in and suggested lures.  Shane Guy and Wild J's also has ice castles on Bitter but I have no experience with them.

Little off topic, has anyone been having great outings at bitter? A few years ago 13in perch and some eater walleye came like crazy....anymore seems like a tough bite for a lot of people.

Group of us went out with waubay lake guide service last during the 2 day blizzard they had up there. Fished out of hard side shacks all day. We caught a lot of smaller walleye with perch mixed in. When the “guide” came to pick us up they had just caught a nice 24” walleye out of the snow bear. They planned to take us to the same place the next day but.... like i said it was a blizzard, couldn’t get to the landing the second day, we had 2/4 pickups stuck after the “guide” said we would be able to make it there no problem.... Came back a month later and fished all day but we didn’t catch anything. Ended up going over to big stone and did well. Lots of sorting.

Yeah I’m afraid the main lakes like bitter & waubay had enough pressure that they’ve went to average to below average....to bad miss the days of 13in perch limits

Went last year at the end of January and got our 2 man limit of perch and eyes in 2 days.

Nothing huge but good action early and late with a lot of waiting until the evening bite.
