xmas 07 mississippi lake

mg]: caught these pics dec 23 07 ....good night of fishin/img] [img][/img] : 1st fish of the season in the new shack .......... solid purple pike...no markings? caught many blue pike in this area but never purple ......buddy got a 8 lb pickerel in my shack on dec 14 .... chad

Nice pike, I've caught them like that here on the Ottawa before, a silvery purple sheen and not alot in terms of markings... how the crappie been biting on the Miss?

 have caught a few crappie but usually fish with big minnows. tried to down pictures of pic twice and am still having problems? anyhow have caught many bass pike perch catfish and pickerel. start of another good season.

That fish looks like a Silver pike to me.  That is just a regular northern pike with a relatively rare genetic mutation which leaves it devoid of all markings.  Those kinds of northerns are caught once in a while, usually in remote areas.  Still a pretty cool thing to catch.  Congratulations
