Cowan Lake near Popular point has 13" of good ice.
Fishing for pike was good. 6 decent size keepersand 1 12lb lunker sent back to grow some more....
Lots of action in 7 feet of water some misses too.

that's the biggest pike ive ever heard of out of cowan. caught 1000s there never got one over 4-5lbs.

in 25 years i've seen a half dozen or so pike out of cowan from 10-20lbs, most on the lower end of that scale, definitely rare though. but it sure does pump out the numbers, great place to take the kids.

Sounds like a great place to set some flags and/or the jawjacker

I expected hammer handles all day, but we were treated to some decent size pike and the big one.

I am heading to Cowan Lake on Sat with my brother. I have never been to Cowan before. My brother has been camping there in the summer but has never Ice fished. We are hoping to find some Pike and Perch. If anyone can help out with some general locations or tips on this lake it would be greatly appreciated. Send a PM if you don't want to divulge any secrets. If I can return the favour on any of the lakes I am familiar with I will.

Trucks are driving on cowan and the bite is good, perch and pickerel if you can keep the scrawny pike off.
