Hey guys, I got an idea that may cut down on the "how thick's the ice?"  I noticed there was not a sandy pond thread on the Reports and conditions board. I just started one. Put all ice thickness reports there and then if some one asks, direct them to the R&C board.

here it is:

http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=221901.0

This way, you can continue all chatting here hopefully with out getting "how thicks the ice?" every 5 posts.  ;D

   Great move!  I never did understand why it was listed under small water Jefferson county.  One it's one of the top topics on this site yet the conditions were jumbled in with lots of smaller ponds, two & prob. more importantly  97% of it is in Oswego county & I don't think many would think to look in Jefferson.  No one fishes the small part that is in Jefferson either, at least rarely do you see anyone that far across Renshaw Bay.

Hate to say it but I am hoping the pond will just go ahead and melt off so I can hit those crappies I couldn't get to from the boat.... :'(

I would really like to get back out on the ice this year but with the current conditions of the pond and the forecast, it looks like I will have to wait until next season...

I've given up on ice on Sandy Pond for this winter.  I'm trying to focus on what little ice will be left elsewhere.

bluegillking.......I never have got to personally thank you yet for "turning me on " to  your home made , super incredibly sensitive, panfish jigging rod. That rod has really  increased my panfish hookups ,and made a spring bobber obsolete for me. I can now detect the lightest of hits, even nudges . I LOVE that little "salmon shop" jigging rod.......thanks again..... I guess i won't be seeing you on sandy pond this year , but i'll see ya in oswego !!....stay well, stay safe, and good luck fishin'........choo choo steve
