Tiger through the ice?
« on: Jan 03, 2016, 06:02 PM »
Just wondering if anyone here has caught tiger musky through the ice? I focus on trout fishing but seeing a 40" tiger swim by my trout jig yesterday has me rethinking that. Do you fish for them like pike?

It was in Colorado but since it was the first one I've ever seen, I assume that there is not a huge population. It was impressive though.

I caught my first tiger musky this weekend on a tip up.  It was a pretty cool experience.  I didn't even get the tip up set before the flag went up and the spool started screaming.

I don't think tons of people target them in CO, but it seems like every year somebody accidentally catches one with powerbait or something goofy. I've been meaning to dedicate a day to them with a tipup and bangin somehing big.

I'm going to have to dust off my tip ups and figure out where to catch some suckers. Too bad Antero is out. It was pretty easy to catch suckers there icing.  :P
