Little Pine Island????
« on: Dec 26, 2007, 03:40 PM »
Looking for a lake somewhat close to GR for tommorro morning. Fished out Angel Lake, and ready for a newe one. Little Pine Island came to mind, and wondering if anyone has been out or near to see ice conditions. Please let me know any info you have. If there are any other lakes fishing good right now i would appreciate some direction. Thanks

I have never fished it before, but a friend says it has produced some nice specs, and gills. I am going to check it out in the morning, if it isnt good, well there are other lakes with some good ice. Thanks

Decided to try out Pine Island this morning. Ice was a little scary. Went out at the public launch, only 2 inches of ice. Walked a little past the island and ice started to crack, so turned  FAST and went back. Caught some little gills. Stayed for an hour and then went to the Honey Hole Angel Lake.

14 mile rd (57) East off from 131. Aprox. 8 miles to Harvard Rd. Turn Right then left on Angel Lake rd. Runs into lake.

Catch pretty good size gills, specs, and some hammerhandles. Really dies down after about 11am. Haven't fished it in the evening yet.

Yes 14 mile goes to Greenville i believe. But from 131 you want to go east on 14 mile rd. I think from the Highway it is called 57. It is Exit 101. Good luck

No, will be back at it this weekend. I wan't to go after some eyes, just don't know where yet. Good Luck, and also the only parking is in someone on the lakes property. You should be able to see it. There is a sign on a pole where you pay a dollar to park. We usually strait out then all the way to the right side of the lake, i think that is the southside. 15-17ft of water. Good luck and hold on to them rods.

Nothing to worry about ice is good. I used my power auger today, but i'm pretty lazy and like to move alot. I would say between 4-6 inches

Actually exit 101 is 14 mile rd. I did check the map to confirm that. I sure would like to know how and where to catch a 30+ pike, i have caught quite a few pike out of there but all hammerhandles. Nothing over 24 inches. I only fish in on area of the lake, so maybe i need to try another area.
