Best day fishing so far this year

This is why I built my shack this year--for the kids to enjoy.  I had the day off and my three year-old daughter asked me to take her fishing.  According to her, she wanted to catch a huge fish and eat it.  She caught a couple of perch that (as you can tell from the pictures) creeped her out and decided against eating them.  Although we only spent a couple of hours out there before she got bored, it was the highlight of my season. 

The guy in the last picture is the youngest brother of a friend.  This is his first year ice fishing and I have made a convert out of him.  The kid's been in a bit of trouble and my buddy asked me to keep an eye on him.  How better to keep an eye on him than introduce him to fishing?

looks like an awsome day! and fishing is a wicked good way to keep kids outta crap. i know it keeps me from doin some stupid sh*t!! then again when im on the ice im the kid to run to the edge of open water and jump ;D. but looks like a great day!! congrats! and just think every small trip u make. u make your daughter and friends son love the sport even more! and after awhile you'll be spending nights on the ice!!

Thanks to everyone.  It was a great day with her.  Taking all three kids at the same time by myself can be a bit too much.  This morning was perfect.  I could devote my full attention to her and we both had a great time.

Mad Trapper, thanks for the offer.  I'm working tomorrow so I'm going to have to wait it out.  Good luck tomorrow.
