I didn't build one into my sled, but I do carry a dry box meant for ammo in mine. Works great for extra gloves, phone, wallet, etc.

I have had good luck with a clean plastic bucket with a lid.
It will hold lots of stuff and removable when not needed.

I use a Rubbermaid tote. It's only like 6" high so it fits well in my 1 man flip. And it's heavy duty. What about a plastic tool box? Some are pretty tough.

I keep my keys/wallet in a floating drybox tossed into my sled, if something ever happened i may have a chance at getting them both back no to mention it keeps them dry from snowfall etc.

I do.  I made a compartment in my sled and sealed all the joints with silicone.  I did this after my minnow bucket splashed water in my sled and got everything wet.

That's what I do. 2 extra pair of gloves, extra skull cap, any food I'm bringing, and anything else that I don't want to get wet goes in there.

sunglases, work gloves and soft sided tackle box go in a rubber maid bin with hinged interlocking  covers. it fits perfectly in my fish trap sled... outer jacket, binoculars, cameras and thermous go in a water proof back pack...

I use a coleman 34 qt cooler. It fits my scout and my seat slides over it perfectly  and it makes it nice coffee table. Plus it helps to keep my thermas out of the cold. GOT TOO HAVE HOT COFFEE.
