Live or fake they both work great. The best tip I could give you is, Fake works best if you have the right decoy for the right day and if you know how to work it good. If you are just starting off than you should use live for most of the time but once and a while try and use a decoy and then use it a little more each time until you get each decoy down pat on how to use it the best way. Ya, what Higgins said. Some days, the fish like live more than a decoy, and other days is completely opposite.

I see you are from MT, check the regs, as I know it is illegal to "fish" out of your spear hole in most regions (144 sq inches max, I think). The eastern district has no size limit to you fishing hole, so I fish out of my spear hole.

We'll a tip would be not to spear use a line and a hook thats what fishing is
a sport. Remember spearing is a slaughter not a sport, spearing is for mental case's.

You know what your right I'm going to stop spearing and give it all up..............Is that what you want to hear. Your wasting your time coming in hear and shooting off your mouth. You just want to start a fight and if you keep it up than I will report you cause there is no reason to be in the Darkhouse section if you just want to fight cause it's not like everyones going to stop just cause you told them to   .
