I was out today on the West end of Echo near where the channel flows from Pasqua into Echo. Really slow, 2 - small perch and a 1 - burbot.

We usually catch a few burbot in the area each winter without trying too hard.

Echo's hot right now out from the hatchery.
The problem with quotes on the internet is that they're difficult to prove.

south side of the lake
east of the highway that goes between pasqua and echo
west of basayta

so between basayta and east end echo if your driving along the south side along the cabins you cant miss the hatchery

Went out yesterday. We started at B-Say-Tah point and only got a couple perch and 2 pike. We moved to the west end of the lake near the mouth of the river and got about a dozen jumbo perch and saw lots on the camera. We were using tee-tots and hawger spoons with pink maggets or eyes. 16-18" of ice. Lots of snow on the ice so if you don't have a truck i suggest you stay on the paths.

Some pals and I were at Echo Sunday and today (Tuesday).  On Sunday we fished by the hatchery and had 5 hits all day.  The result:  2 small Perch and 3 Walleye (2 above 3 pounds).  Although the few Walleye that we caught were nice, it was really slow.  Today was the slowest day of fishing I have ever experienced.  We had very few hits and caught about 5 small Perch.  We even tried three different locations - all brutal.  It's amazing how great fishing can be at times and how terrible it can be at times.

I think I am ready to start exploring some different lakes.  Any information on Mission, Katepwa or Pasqua would be appreciated - or success stories from Echo.

Side note:  My wife bought me the Team Wild 3 flip over sled/tent for Christmas.  It's large, easy to set up and comfortable - would highly recommend this unit.

I have heard from other anglers that there can be some thin ice around the fish hatchery area.
Does anyone know where the thin ice is located? ???

Big and small walleyes, biggest we caught was 7lbs. Yeah theres perch out deeper. It seems there abit of everything right there.

And about the thin ice im pretty sure theres a spring right out infront
