Went down to the hatchery this morning to check  it out. Drilled a couple hole had about 4" of ice at 6ft of water. Wasn't brave enough to go much further than that.

Thinking about hitting up Pasqua tomorrow morning. Does anyone out there today know how the ice is at the boat launch?

4-5 inches of ice at wambach, big heave east to west , and a patch of open water straight out and to the right a bit of the launch , the honkers were having a hay day in there yesterday

Wonder why it always takes longer to lock up?

Not only is it the deepest, there is also strong current in that lake.

Agreed! Bite me! Plus his theory is wrong! It is because it has more current. Crooked is just as deep, and locks up sooner.

Katepawa Lake defiantly has current, especially around the points.

I have only fished there a few times, but the one time I tried out near Katepwa Point.  I was doing test holes and the closer to the point the thinner it got.
The ice that year went from just over a 12" to 5" near the point. :P

The geese keep the points open in early winter, found that out the hard way about 3 years ago! Sunk my quad and shack at Katepwa Beach point! :woot: :woot: :woot: Good thing there was only 2 FOW!

I have seen vehicles go through the ice on the points, especially Taylor beach point many times, even on our coldest winters.

Has anyone been on at Luther point on Pasqua yet?  How was the ice thickness there if you have?  Thanks in advance. Safe fishing

Seen a few guys fishing the east side of the point but I dont think they were very deep. Ice looked pretty sketchy when I looked at it, plus theres a heave running in by shore and didnt feel like getting wet feet the time lol
