Hammered them again tonight, got 11 or 12 walleye. Only 3 keeper size, the rest were super aggressive 12 to 15 inchers

On waters that are CR1 , i thought you could keep 1 over 21 1/2 or 55 cm , and 1 under ,
Has it got a min size also ,

I gone over the regs and maybe I'm reading it wrong , ??

He didn't say he was the only one to fish.
As I know,  at least two of them were fishing together ( Dad and Son)

felt great to get the snowmobile out on the ice yesterday.burn off all the Cobwebs.great to see all the locals pulling out their permys setting up for the season ahead. put on a few kms fishing, cruising, and just visiting Friends on the lake. ran into a couple guys with a couple nice pike 1 was close to 18 lbs they took a picture and released her. very nice.and about 7 decent perch. fishing was slow for me.middle of the afternoon marked them on the flasher but no takers allthough never really dug in and fished.hopefully will be loading up the sled for some serious fishing in the next few days.

Can anybody tell me how thick the ice is on the north end and is there any shack out there yet? Wondering if it will be good to drive the camper out there sunday

I only keep one, occasionally 2, regardless of how many I catch. I said 3 were keeper size. They all went back though, didn't feel like filleting and ate fish the night before

Was out this morning, drilled through 9 inches of ice.  There were a couple of shacks out already, although it looked like they had been pulled by either sleds or ATVs.

Trucks were on the ice this weekend, one was out about 150 yds. Several near shore. Been driving a side by side out for a few weeks now

if the ice is only 9" restrict travel on ice to ATV's or small cars or SUV's at most.. Yes, some people will get fortunate and not give their truck an ice cold bath.. it's not worth the risk.

I will second that!  I put my shack out with a quad, no way after I saw how the lake froze I would drive my truck on it!

Personally I wouldn't risk it. I've see guys put their front end through the ice only cause they seen someone else on the ice before them. Invest in a pull behind sled or something to drag your gear out. The kids can play in it once your on the ice.

YA if u don't wanna walk far u can fish very south end by regina highway. By the boat launch in the provincial park. Or the admin office in the park. Aswell as the pump house at shields or the very North end. All have parking in area and are just a short walk to get fishing.

I was out this afternoon for a few hours. It was slow out there. I fished by the pump house at Shields anywhere from 12-30 feet deep. Every hole I drilled measured 11.
I'm just trying to get another bite.

was out for a few hours yesterday, it was pretty slow, but we fished from 11-230 so not the best times of day, have been having pretty good luck with the walleyes right as the sun starts to go down

A little slow on the strap today.  Fished Shields from 2:00-5:00 in about 20FOW and only saw two fish on the camera.  Still fun to be on the ice.  Some dudes were driving on, we still took the sleds....didn't risk it.  Ice is just barely a foot thick.  Won't be long with this weather and we'll be driving on as well.  Anyone else find fish today?

Anyone out recently?  I am thinking of walking on at Shields pumphouse, or at the North End tomorrow morning for a few hours.  Any info on bite, or if anyone has found any perch action would be appreciated.

Was out at sheilds again yesterday. Hanging in about 20 fow lakes looking pretty clear. Seen 2 nice size pike ( one breaking my line)  and one lonely walleye. The pike in the area must have been keeping away the perch and walleye. Ice is looking pretty nice , sitting at about a foot.

I will be pulling the shack out soon for the first year at blackstrap. Just wondering how common theft/vandalism is  on the lake? Shack will be mostly empty(nothing worth value) is it worth locking?

To close to city with a lot of traffic hear of a few to get broke into and vandalized each winter.  I never leave anything in mine.

Don't bother locking the doors and leave nothing of value and you will be fine.

had a chance to get out yesterday afternoon from 2-7. little breezy wind chill was up mostly sat in the shelter. seen marks coming and going for the first couple hours some bigger than others so i new i was in a good spot for the evening.first walleye caught at 4:30 and from then on til around 6:30 action was fairly steady. most of the hook ups was on the dead stick beside me. seem to be wanting the bobber lately. at the end of the day landed 6 walleye 2 at 18" and a small pike. a very nice evening.

It appears that someone went through all the shacks stored at the Northend. Sure be nice if they would go clean that mess up instead of vandalism!

Walked on this morning. Half way between Shields pump house and Shields. Line in the water by 8:15am. Lots of marks but not overly interested. One small walleye about 9am that I threw back down the hole. Lots of marks after that; tried everything flasher jig, PK, blade bate, etc. nothing though. Last mark about 10:45am.  24ft of water 14" of ice. Can hear the last 1lb propane cylinder flickering in the buddy heater so time to pack up.

Yep the ones on the shore that have been trashed, vandalized and left there.  Don't expect the vandals to clean that mess up.  Be nice if the people that left them there before they got wrecked would take responsibility for that.

Eventually a gate will be put up there and a great access and spot will no longer be there. Much like the aholes that shoot the hey out of all that garbage and leave it there in the pit.
