Way to go Big Burk, she was a dandy big pike. love the fight from those big ones. @)

That is a bit odd about her pelvic fins though.
Was there a scar showing she had them at one time, or was it smooth, like they never formed? :-\
From this angle it looks smooth.

I caught one this winter with it's anal fin missing. All that was there was a small scar.
It might have had it ripped off when young.

Bite-me, we did pretty dood. 18 perch, three small 'eyes, and two tullibee.  Dad lost about 10-15; just couldn't set the hook I suppose. He was using minnows and I think he just needs to bait the hook better, but he won't listen to me, lol.  We found access on to be just as good as always, but the amount of water we were spraying with the tires ON the ice as we were driving to our spot was freaking me out a bit.  Jesus wasn't the only one that could walk on water 😜

My question is... Do you guys think it will still be ok to drive on, on Thursday? The ice shavings were still white Sunday, but I'm a bit worried.... Probably bc of the water on top. I don't want to give it up just yet, but will if you guys tell me to stay off.  I'm still new at this winter fishing, and will heed any advice from you seasoned vets. 😄👍

Thanks, C

Fished Katepwa today. 11 walleye, 7 perch, 1 burbot and a few tullibee. One tip up flag but nothing there. Water was VERY stained. Tough to see the bottom of the hole. Ice was still real good. We walked out near Sandy Beach and there was at least 2.5ft of ice. And not as rotten as LML ice. See you next December!!

Is there still anywhere on Pasqua, echo, or Katepwa a person can get out for this last fishing weekend? The only 3 points of access I know are the two sides down by standing buffalo and the mission ridge by the tee pee. Not from that area, so not sure if there's other easy walk out access

You could try Sandy Beach, it's between Katepwa and Lebret. Take the last right when coming through SB from Lebret. Then take the next left, it comes to a dead end by some cabins where you can walk out. It gets deep really fast!  :woot: Good Luck, Carla! Lol

Sorry Leah but did you happen to get out fishing this weekend? If you did, how did you do? I forgot to tell you about Fort San, can usually catch perch there, longer walk from shore though! Only a couple days left! :'( Good Luck!
