Stellar, I don't think I have ever seen anyone try and drive down the dam before, now I know why.

Lets break down that picture. He drives up and sees 2 trucks up on the road, he looks on the ice and sees the 2 tents on the ice. Then draws a line from the tucks to the tents in his mind, locks er up and heads down the rocks.  When the ass end breaks through the ice, he realizes maybe the 2 trucks are parked up on the road cause the ice may be thin. Just then the little common sense guy shows up on his shoulder and whispers in his ear : sorry I'M late"

It's unfortunate what happened to that dodge, I saw the whole thing. But at the same time, how stupid can you be? Is was clearly unsafe from a visual standpoint. Use the damn boat launch!! Is anyone at catching anything on the north end? If so, what are you using? I spent all day sat/sun out there and didn't even get a bite using everything I had in the box!

Tow truck had to pull it backwards, consequently through the same hole the back end made. I was about 100 yards away and the impact of the front end falling through shook the ice where I was. It was shallow but he fell through pretty hard.

Turns out it wasn't totalled, he busted the front end up pretty bad though. A bit of water on the floor of the cab. He said he drove on there because he didn't want to back all the way up the dam lol. Must not be very good with a trailer.

Guess he didnt realize that he could go to the end and turn around by the fire pit either. Or drive in from the launch on that side.  ;D

Was out near the north end the other day, the perch were biting fairly steady.  Was debating on the drive out whether or not to fish by Evans road.

Was out last weekend on the north end, didn't catch anything but did see a lot of fish. They seemed to be getting close to my lures at about 6 ft below the ice, in 25ft of water. Which I think is strange. Heading out early tomorrow. Pretty confident it's going to be a good day. Not much biting all last week, they've gotta be hungry lol.

Despite the cold weather, perches were hungry 10-11 AM today at Evans Road. I tested all the bigger ~2" lures in my box (blades, spoons) and they all worked w/o bait. The florescent spoons worked better. After catching close to 10 keepers plus a couple of 1#ish walleyes and missing quite a few half way the bite just stopped. I stayed another hour but few fishes were detected on the flasher.

Got 3 jacks and 1 walleye today at the North end. All good sizes (3-7 lbs). Saw lots of small perch on the cam, no bites though.

I've seen trucks going down to the lake there last weekend. I don't think my van can make it.

Access is pretty good at the very north end. Ive never driven on from anywhere else. Is the shields pump house road right by the golf course? I see a lot of shacks set up near there but not sure how to get on there??

The pump house is straight east about 7 KM from Dundurn.

Do you have to go through shields to get there? If not does anyone know how to access the spot in behind the golf course?
