Neat hook MikeMiller, that perch must like Crown Royal, lol. ;D

Did you make that lure?

You really found a honey hole on Mission Lake, keep them coming. :)

Was out today what a treat to fish without gloves in January. The perch and walleye were hitting in 18 to 21 feet of water.

i was on the north side of echo 20-35 feet. slower day yesterday still lots of small perch . only managed to get 2 walleye but one was a real chunky 23 inch. also got 8 burbot but 6 of them came in the dark.

hey fishing friends,
i been out about 5 times this year and i have been hitting perch like crazy, non stop action however they are only 4 inches big, i went to the hatchery a few times where the perch bite was nuts, and right infront of echo beach where it was the same thing but maybe a bit slower, i caught a carp one afternoon which i was extremely shocked when i pulled it out of the whole. i been using jigga whopper spoons with worms and maggots fish eyes....
is there anywhere to go where maybe there is more of a walleye bite or even bigger perch? anytips on lures also ?
i am willing to go to any lake down there, anyways thanks a lot!

I was watching and listening to the pros on Mission on Sunday, (they came to visit after a morning at Katepwa) and when the bite's on but the fish are small they go try in the shallows and if that doesn't produce in an hour they move out to the other side of us into 50' and try that.  Naturally it helps to know as many good spots as they do, and we aquire those with time, but the lesson was in watching those guys go prospecting.  Those big eyes have to be somewhere and sometimes that's where there's only 3' of water under the ice, even on a sunny day.  Sure we did ok, and everybody gets a good feed of fish, but the pros had a limit of nice eyes in the 2 1/2 - 4 lb range.
The problem with quotes on the internet is that they're difficult to prove.

Slow going for me at Pasqua.  Only kept one burbot and a perch.  Fished from 40 - 28 FOW.  Should I be in shallower?
By the way, should be able to get around on Pasqua if you have a 4X4.  I was able to blaze my own trail but it was a bit tough.

Aredog,
You should be able to get on at the Echo valley park landing and stay on the trails.  You won't (shouldn't) need a good 4X4 unless you are blazing your own trail.  That is assuming we don't get more snow. Bring a snow shovel just in case!

Hi everyone!  This is my first post.... after hours of reading posts I finally decided to join.

Quick question, anyone know what the driving conditions are for the north end of Katepwa Lake down by the cabins?  I drove on with my 4x4 a few weeks ago before the snow dump.  Was planning on possibly going out this weekend, I won't go if I can't drive on though.

Thanks!
 ;D ;D

Went out today got about 20 decent perch and a walley.  released all except for three to have a little fish sandwich.
