Walleye in MT
« on: Dec 01, 2015, 10:44 AM »
I'm looking for a couple lakes around the western/central area that have some good walleye fishing. I don't need to know your top secret fishing spots, but a couple lakes that are decent for walleye is all I'm looking for.

Canyon Ferry has some good ice walleye action. It takes a while to figure it out, but that's half the fun.

Does anyone have any good tips for catching walleye at CF? I had some good luck this summer, the fish were in some pretty shallow water 15-30ft. Do they move in the winter?

Travel a couple hours more East and go to Fort Peck Reservoir.  This place is the Yankee Stadium of trophy walleye fishing.

Swan Lake just had walleye found in it but not a sustainable population yet
